SEP 10, 11, 17, 29 OCT 12
20% New French Oak for 18 months
2020 Painted Fields Curse of Knowledge, Sierra Foothills ($25) A powerhouse that effortlessly releases red and blue fruit into a stream of violets and mountain brush. Fine acidity leans into an inner meatiness that keeps it as fresh as it is bold and complex. Floral and fruit aromatics persist through the finish.
Decomposed Granite, Sandy Loam
Curse of Knowledge is a red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Malbec. Each of the varietals is fermented and aged separately for the first 12 months. After blending, the wine spends another 6 months in barrels for a total of 18 months in 20% New French Oak. 38% Cab Sauv, 30% Merlot, 25% Cab Franc, 7% Malbec
This red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc will thwart the curse of knowledge on the Sierra Foothills and immerse on a new dimension of perfectly balanced, well-structured and high-quality red wine. The intense ruby color and a sensational bouquet of dried violet, black cherry, fresh herbs, and cocoa powder will catch your attention. A balanced mid-palate, generous and round due to the velvety tannins with a lingering finish of dark berries and black licorice. Drink now to taste the brightness of our fruits or age in your cellar for the next decade.
